Car2go goes upscale with Mercedes-Benz

Beginning this month, car2go members in Vancouver and Toronto will have access to two new car-share vehicles from Mercedes-Benz: the 2017 CLA 4-door Coupe and the GLA 5-door SUV. Both models will be equipped with 4MATIC all-wheel drive traction, along with plenty of luxury and convenience features, including navigation, premium Harman Kardon audio, and a panoramic sunroof.

The upscale rides will also carry a suite of driver aids, including Blind Spot Assist and Adaptive-Braking, the latter of which uses radar-based technology to autonomously brake the vehicle to avoid a collision.

While Vancouver and Toronto will be the first Canadian cities to enable car2go members to ride in style, Montreal and Calgary won’t be far behind. Given the unusual amount of snow this winter in Vancouver, and the snow that falls with greater ferocity in the eastern provinces, car2go users will undoubtedly appreciate the all-wheel drive configuration of the new team members.

Car2go has confirmed that the CLA and GLA usage fees will be slightly greater, at 45 cents per minute, $17 per hour, and $99 per day. Standard fees for the smart fortwo remain at 32 cents, $13, and $65 respectively. More information can be found at: http://www.car2go.com/
