The highly anticipated F1 movie starring Brad Pitt and co-produced by racing icon Lewis Hamilton is racing through theatres currently and enthusiasts should be on the lookout for a number of IWC Schaffhausen watches to make appearances throughout the picture — including a beautiful green timepiece on the wrist of the lead actor.
As part of the partnership, IWC has released the following special collection to celebrate the fictional APXGP team depicted in the film:

Playing driver Sonny Hayes, Pitt is seen sporting a custom Ingenieur SL with a stunning green dial. Although this example is a prop jointly created by NYC-based Cloister Watch Company, it inspired the new special edition Ingenieur Automatic 40. Reference IW328908 features a stainless-steel 40-milimetre case, grid-patterned green dial, gold-plated and lumed hands and markers and the signature five functional screws around the bezel.
An integrated stainless bracelet and butterfly folding clasp provides comfort and the in-house 32111 calibre boasts a power reserve of 120 hours. And like all Ingenieurs, the soft-iron inner case shields the movement from magnetic fields. Limited to just 1,000 units.

Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41
Finished in an 18-carat 5N gold 41-millimetre case, ref. IW388309 is sure to turn heads on or off the track. Worn on-screen by rookie racer Joshua Pearce (portrayed by Damson Idris), the bright colour contrasts nicely with the black ceramic tachymeter bezel and rubber strap. The pushers and crown are gold as well, as are the indices, numbers and characteristic 12 o’clock triangle that are also hand polished.
A unique design element of IWC chronos is the 6, 9 and 12 o’clock placement of the subdials comprised of seconds, 12-hour and 30-minute counters, respectively. The day and date are positioned at 3 o’clock. Thanks to a tinted sapphire display back, calibre 69385 is fully showcased. Tool-free strap swapping is made possible by the proprietary EasX-CHANGE system.

Pilot’s Watch Chronograph APXGP
Similar to the above model but in a stainless-steel case in either 41 millimetres (IW378009) or 43 millimetres (IW388116), the black, gold and white hits are a nod to the APXGP team. In addition, the logo is found on the caseback and laser engraved into the rubber strap. The 69385 movement can stay powered for 46 hours, and the watch is water resistant to 100 metres.
F1 officially opens on June 27, check out the official trailer.
