New Subaru WRX is refreshed, upgraded and safer for Canadians

Having received a major refresh for 2018, with its overall upgraded look, improvements to usability, and added safety features, the 2018 Subaru WRX promises to provide the consumer with a sporty driving experience like no other. Add to that, an optional RS (rally sport) Package, providing interior enhancements and performance parts (like red painted calipers and Jurid brake pads) consumers can have their WRX looking the sportiest ever – for last year’s base price of $29,995. Yup. That’s right. Last year’s base price.

With the new WRX, WRX Sport and WRX Sport-Tech, buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission or a sport-tuned Sport Lineartronic automatic transmission which offers both a 6 and 8 speed manual shift mode for the best in shifting response Subaru has to offer. Power , thanks to the 268-horsepower 2.0L direct injection turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine and Subaru’s known existing performance enhancing parts, the WRX still surpasses other sport model vehicles in its class. Active Torque Vectoring, in conjunction with Subaru’s symmetrical full-time All Wheel Drive System provides unsurpassed handling, cornering and precision driving for driving enthusiasts everywhere.

Subaru’s (optional) EyeSight Package, available for the first time in Canada, on the WRX Sport-Tech CVT trim (only), works in conjunction with the power and performance we have come to know and love with WRX. Allowing buyers to add an entire suite of safety features with one addition to their new WRX, the EyeSight Package includes features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure and sway warning, High Beam Assist, pre-collision braking and throttle management alongside added features to help mitigate collisions when driving in reverse.

Overall, WRX for 2018 offers consumers safer and sportier advancements to a model line up already indicative of the ultimate in precision driving and sports performance. And thankfully, they offer it in World Rally Blue.
