VinFast V8 and V9 tour
Asian start-up VinFast is taking the show on the road with the VinFast Canada Roadshow, where it will set up pop-up displays in select high-traffic malls in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto to showcase the new VF 8 and VF 9 SUVs.
Visitors can check out services and smart functions up close like charging solutions, and experience in-person demonstrations of the many features offered on the two EVs. Prospective customers can also enjoy Vietnamese-style coffee while picking the brains of onsite experts to learn more about the brand and its various models.
The Roadshow’s next stop is the Yorkdale Shopping Centre May 20 to June 5 (Toronto), then the CF Carrefour Laval June 10 to 26 (Montreal) and finally wrapping up at a TBA venue in Vancouver from July 8 to 18.
IONIQ 5-based Robotaxi
Will people soon be able to hail a self-driving IONIQ 5 taxi? A concept of the Level 4 autonomous vehicle was first revealed at the IAA Mobility 2021 auto show in Germany to much acclaim.
Hyundai has partnered with Boston-based startup Motional, specializing in driverless technology, which has installed various bits of hardware and software to help the crossover operate on its own.
The company has created two videos to demonstrating the humanistic qualities of its robotaxis. The first episode focuses on a female engineer working on the project, while the second a group of teenagers interested in the futuristic mobility solution. The concept is expected to become a reality starting next year when the first public passengers are to be transported in Las Vegas.
