Two-door Range Rover SV Coupe launched in Geneva

The strange world of two-door SUVs just got a little bigger. On Tuesday, Land Rover launched the all-new, British-built limited edition Range Rover SV Coupe. This edition of the SV not only becomes the first two-door, full-size SUV on the market but also the fastest full-size Range Rover ever produced.

The SV Coupe receives a monstrous 5.0L supercharged V8 engine rated at 557 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, which will allow the Brit Beast to do the 0-to-100 run in 5.3 seconds. For reference, it would beat the Mercedes-AMG G 65 in a drag race.

Power and good looks won’t be the model’s only qualities – it will also feature the badge’s legendary off-roading capability thanks to a flight of driving modes, adjustable air suspension, a wading depth of 900 mm and a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg.

Each of the 999 handbuilt units will be highly customizable thanks to a well-garnished menu of options. This includes a model-specific body paint pallet with your choice of finish, contrasting or single-tone interiors, three elegant wood veneers – including the all-new Nautica veneer that blends the essence of walnut and sycamore – and seven design packages. The semi-aniline leather seats have also been redesigned to provide additional comfort.

The limited-production model will also receive the updated InControl Touch Pro, dual-screen infotainment system introduced in 2017 with the new Velar – a stark improvement over the system’s previous generation.

The JLR Special Vehicle Operations Technical Center in Warwickshire, England will be responsible for hand-assembly of the units that will go for $335,000 in Canada. Sales are expected to begin at the end of the year.
