The Crew Motorfest Season 7

Enthusiasts will still have to wait to see the Ferrari F80 in real life, but gamers get the next best thing — the upcoming plug-in hypercar is featured in the latest update of The Crew Motorfest (TCM).

The cross-platform Hawaii-based racing video game launched back in 2023, and each major update since — known as seasons — showcases a fresh theme bundling new cars, environments, events and other content. TCM Season 7 puts the spotlight on Ferrari, and incorporates an Enzo Ferrari Museum POI among many extras.

“We’ve had a great partnership with Ferrari for years now on The Crew and The Crew franchise and The Crew Motorfest, including Creator Fest, and we are discussing regularly with Ferrari. And at one point we wanted to create a playlist with them because Ferrari is one of the most important brands in the automotive industry,” said Julien Hummer, Ubisoft Ivory Tower creative director, over a Teams call.

“Last year in December we presented some intentions regarding the playlists. So, the playlists are a way for us to tell stories about car culture and to use a lot of elements within our games, such as the car, the music, the gameplay, and we wanted to craft something with them,” continued Hummer, adding the timing proved perfect as the F80 had recently been announced and a special Supercars exhibition was set to launch in the Italian town of Maranello.

The Enzo Ferrari Museum serves as a hub for this season’s festivities, situated on TCM world’s island of Maui and the layout draws inspiration from the aforementioned exhibit. Here, players can get behind the wheel of the F80 and partake in various exclusive racing challenges, guided along by Ferrari museums director Michele Pignatti Morano who shares insider insights on the iconic manufacturer. Completing the playlist unlocks the Ferrari 288 GTO as a reward.

A total of 17 new models are being rolled out: for example, the Ferrari F50 introduced on July 2, the SF90 Stradale Assetto Fiorano (July 30), as well as non-Prancing Horse offerings like the Genty Automobile Akylone (Aug. 6), Audi R8 LMS GT2 (Sept. 3) and the Triump Rocket 3 R (Oct. 1).

In addition, there are overall gameplay improvements like a revamped Fast Fav vehicle quick-switching system now allowing customizable save slots; an Immersion Mode that removes the head-up display providing a more realistic driving experience; and a Spectator function within the player-versus-player Grand Race Mode where, after finishing or forfeiting a race, players may choose to observe their friends and rivals via a different vantage point.

Following the month-long Ferrari celebration, the season transitions to the “Luxury Chronicles: Europe” playlist on Aug. 6 highlighting French, German and British automobiles.

The Ferrari F80 borrows proven technologies from the automaker’s Formula 1 team and utilizes a mid-mounted 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 and three electric motors, mated to an eight-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, to create an incredible 1,184 horsepower. Getting 0 to 100 km/h takes approximately 2.2 seconds. In-game, it joins other previously released siblings the 308 GTS, 512 TR and F12berlinetta.
