Land Rover Defender Convertible

A convertible Land Rover is certainly nothing new (we’re looking at you, Range Rover Evoque) but a topless modern day Defender was unattainable — until now.

Netherlands-based shop Heritage Customs is offering just this as an option on its Valiance package for 2022, which provides a more “heroic” handmade build of the vehicle replete with premium materials inside and out such as aluminum, leathers, denims, teak woods and even copper.

“We’re proud to introduce the Valiance Convertible: a one-of-five limited edition coach-built motorcar made exclusively as an open top vehicle, through our Carchitecture program. It is based on the Defender 90 body style and available in three carefully curated colour schemes,” says co-owner Jan-Pieter Kroezen.

Replacing everything above the door line behind the B pillar with a retractable soft top, the result is a true open air two-door SUV. One of the three colours is the Côte d’Azur, named after the Mediterranean coast of southeastern France, and includes a coat of special blue paint, black front and rear bumper inserts, 22-inch Space Cowboy forged aluminum wheels shod in white wall tires, and sport seats.

Prices start at $160,000 USD and interested parties can visit heritagecustoms.nl for more information about purchasing one.
