AMG doesn’t whisper about the future — they shout it from the rooftops. And with the unveiling of the Concept AMG GT XX, the message is loud and unmistakable: the electric era isn’t coming, it’s already in the fast lane.

This isn’t a polite, efficient EV dressed in sporty trim. It’s a four-door electric supercar that looks like it escaped from a private motorsport lab and decided to rewrite the rulebook. Power? A staggering 1,360-plus horsepower from a trio of pizza-box-sized axial flux motors. Speed? North of 360 km/h. Tech? Frankly, it’s from another planet.
Let’s dig in.
The Power Equation Has Changed
The core of the Concept GT XX is its axial flux motor technology, developed in partnership with British e-motor specialists YASA. Compact, lightweight, and absurdly power-dense, these motors are the heartbeat of AMG’s vision for the next generation. They’re fitted into two high-performance electric drive units — one up front and two in the rear — working together through AMG’s fully variable Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system.

The effect is instant torque with orchestral precision. Power is distributed exactly where it’s needed, with intelligent transitions between rear- and all-wheel drive, ensuring grip, balance, and serious driver engagement. In other words, it’s not just about going fast — it’s about feeling connected while doing it.
Charging at Warp Speed
Of course, performance is only as good as the power behind it. Here again, AMG is playing a different game.
The bespoke battery pack is a ground-up design inspired by lessons learned in Formula 1 and AMG ONE. It uses tall cylindrical cells with direct cooling and operates at 800+ volts — techy stuff, yes, but what matters is the result: 400 km of range in five minutes. You read that right. Five. Minutes.

Credit a new 850+ kW DC fast-charging capability and a collaboration with Alpitronic, whose prototype station makes such extreme charging viable — even over a standard CCS connector. It’s a glimpse at a future where long-distance EV driving isn’t just possible; it’s preferable.
Aerodynamics: Sculpted by Speed
Visually, the GT XX is nothing short of striking. Finished in a dramatic “sunset beam” orange, the shape is pure AMG — long hood, raked roofline, wide haunches — but modernized with clean surfaces, sharp detailing, and an obsessive commitment to airflow.

Aerodynamically, this is a masterclass. A drag coefficient of just 0.198, no active spoilers, and a host of motorsport-derived elements working beneath the surface — including a fully sealed underbody with Venturi-effect channels and bonnet air outlets. Then there’s the pièce de résistance: 21-inch Aero Wheels with self-powered, adaptive blades that adjust cooling and efficiency in real-time. No wires. No gimmicks. Just brilliant engineering.
Lighting the Way Forward
There’s no rear window, but you won’t miss it. Instead, the MBUX Fluid Light Panel stretches across the tail with over 700 programmable LEDs capable of displaying graphics, charging animations, or even brand signatures. It’s design-meets-theatre — and proof that AMG understands emotion is as important as function.

That lighting extends to the body as well, with electroluminescent “Fluid Light Paint” that glows during charging or in the dark. Suddenly, the GT XX isn’t just a car. It’s a performance art installation that moves.
Interior: Welcome to the Podium
Inside, the GT XX strips away excess and focuses on the essentials: performance, clarity, control. It’s a cabin that feels more F1 cockpit than luxury sedan, with squared-off AMG ONE-style steering, two massive LCD displays, and visible structural elements wrapped in jet black.
Materials are bleeding-edge and sustainable. LABFIBER, a biotech leather alternative made from old AMG GT3 tires and plant polymers, replaces traditional hides. It’s lighter, tougher, breathable, and waterproof. Even the floor mats are made from 100% recycled materials — checkered-flag motif included.

Bucket seats with 3D-printed ergonomic padding, bio-silk door handles, and a commitment to form following function — every element whispers (or shouts) performance.
More Than a Showpiece
This is no vaporware prototype. The Concept AMG GT XX previews AMG’s first production car based on its all-new dedicated EV platform, AMG.EA. It’s real. It’s coming. And it’s likely to arrive in 2026.
“This car is a true AMG with every fibre of its being,” says Michael Schiebe, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. We believe him.
Final Thoughts
The Concept GT XX is many things: a rolling lab, a design manifesto, a statement of intent. But more than that, it’s proof that performance hasn’t gone away in the electric era — it’s simply evolved. Quieter, cleaner, yes. But also faster, smarter, and more thrilling than ever.
If this is what the future of AMG looks like, count us in.
