The Integra name has a long history but was dormant for a number of years before Acura revived it in 2023. And while the base Integra is a very good vehicle, things go up a notch (or two) when you get behind the wheel of the Type S we tested.

The more powerful Type S also features unique styling, an upgraded interior, and more standard features than the rest of the lineup.
The base price for the 2025 Acura Integra Type S is $57,100, and as tested it was $61,712 after a $900 charge for the blue exterior paint and other fees.
Powertrain: The Type S has considerably more punch under the hood, with a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine delivering 320 horsepower, which is 120 more than the base Integra.

The 310 pound-feet of torque is also significantly higher, and when paired with the six-speed manual transmission, you get a car that’s genuinely fun to drive.
The manual gearbox is smooth and effortless to operate, a reminder of the pure driving pleasure that comes with full control through a proper manual transmission.
To match the added power, the Type S also gets upgraded stopping performance via four-piston Brembo front brakes.
With premium fuel recommended, the Type S has an estimated fuel consumption of 9.9 L/100 km. My average during the test was 11.2 L/100 km.

Exterior: The Type S version of the Integra is hard to miss thanks to its unique styling compared to the rest of the lineup, especially at the front.
Acura says everything from the A-pillars forward was redesigned for the Type S.
That includes a more aggressive front fascia with a larger Diamond Pentagon grille featuring bigger openings. Combined with the vented hood, this allows significantly more airflow to help cool the turbo engine.
The back end also gets distinctive touches, with the redesigned rear fascia featuring centre-mounted triple exhausts.
The trunk lid also receives a decklid spoiler for improved downforce.
And if the styling isn’t enough of a giveaway, the large Type S badges on the trunk and front grille are unmistakable.

Interior: Inside, the Type S greets occupants with a luxurious and well-appointed cabin that seats four people.
The Ultrasuede sport front seats are heated, supportive, and hold the body firmly during spirited cornering. The two-tone seat and door panel design enhances the overall ambiance of the cabin.
Contrast stitching on the steering wheel, shifter boot — also Ultrasuede — and shift knob adds a premium touch.
The centre stack is cleanly organized, with HVAC controls neatly arranged under the cleverly integrated air vents. Some physical controls on the infotainment system help keep things intuitive and easy to use.
The driver also benefits from a 10.2-inch Acura Precision Cockpit gauge cluster with crisp, clear graphics.

While generally comfortable, including for rear passengers, the cabin can get quite noisy at highway speeds, making conversations more difficult.
The hatchback-style design provides a wide-opening trunk lid (Acura calls it the fifth door), offering easy access to a generous cargo space. The rear bench folds in a 60/40 split for added practicality.
Infotainment: The central 9-inch touchscreen sits proudly atop the dashboard and comes with all expected features: satellite radio, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless device charging, and a head-up display for added safety.
The Type S also features an excellent 16-speaker, 530-watt ELS Studio premium sound system that delivers impressive clarity and richness.

Drive: From the very first moments behind the wheel, the Type S makes it clear it’s built for driving enthusiasts.
The powerful engine, smooth manual transmission, and tight connection between driver and machine make every trip engaging.
Add in an excellent suspension system and the handling is remarkably sharp.
The Type S also includes the Adaptive Damper System, allowing drivers to select modes like Comfort, Sport and Sport+. This system fine-tunes ride and handling characteristics to match the road or your driving mood.
Conclusion: The 2025 Acura Integra Type S is pure joy on the road, blending unique styling with real driving excitement. It stands out from the rest of the Integra lineup and delivers an experience worthy of the revived Type S badge.
A refresh is coming for the 2026 model year, so stay tuned — I’m looking forward to seeing what Acura does next.
