For 2026, the XLT model of the popular Ford F-150 Lighting electric pickup is no more in Canada, as it gets replaced by the even more capable STX model. It’s a model that Ford says has been developed with a keen ear to customer feedback.
Coming standard with dual EV motors, the STX is capable of a claimed 290 miles (about 466 kilometres) of range — up from 386 km on the outgoing XLT — and makes 536 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque. Those figures help the STX haul a claimed 2,000 of payload and tow up to 10,000 pounds. Ford says this makes it ideal for hauling boats as well as heavy equipment, perhaps an indication that some of that customer feedback they mention has come from jobsite workers and managers. They would also appreciate the standard heated steering wheel and heated cloth seats while outdoor adventurers will surely opt for the available easy-clean vinyl floor.
The powertrain isn’t the only aspect that’s received some massaging for the switch to STX spec. The model also gets running boards borrowed from the off-road spec F-150 Tremor, as well as new 18-inch wheels and Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires. It also gets new STX graphics and unique blue-accented grille. Finally, three new colours have been added for 2026 – Argon Blue, Marsh Grey and Ruby Red Metallic.
The 2026 Ford Lighting STX will arrive in dealers in early 2026, starting at $74,995 CAD.
